What the Ortho Moves Index Is Revealing So Far

The early responses paint a sharp picture of how orthopaedic professionals across ANZ are feeling, moving, and making decisions.

🧭 Career Direction

44% are aiming for leadership roles, while 22% are considering a move outside MedTech altogether. Another 11% are focused on deepening expertise in their current specialty — meaning the majority are eyeing forward momentum or change.

💼 Top Motivator for Moving?

63% say it’s clearer career progression. Compensation was a motivator for 25%, and just 13% cited better tools or support.

🔄 Likelihood of Career Change

Two-thirds are either somewhat likely or already in motion for a change within the next 6–12 months.

📣 Recruiter Outreach

56% have been approached frequently in the past 3 months — but often only by recruiters they already knew, or in fragmented ways.

🗂 Perception of Job Ads

Job ads aren’t totally dead, but they’re not cutting through. 33% say ads feel like a black hole, 33% said they’re hit-and-miss, and only 22% say they actually get leads from them.

📉 Confidence in Career Growth Support

Only 22% feel very confident in their company’s support for growth. One-third aren’t confident at all.
